THE LOFT 5 SEPTEMBER - CLUB NYX
Launched project: Neighbourhood Portraits for Hardy Amies.
In 1945, Hardy Amies settled on No. 14 Savile Row, simultaneously continuing the tradition of making classic, beautifully tailored clothes whilst also being an important game-changer to the area. Today, new centres of creativity are booming on the edges of the city, inspiring, dictating and rejuvenating contemporary London lifestyle. Through video-interviews, filmed in Brixton, Hoxton, Bermondsey, Shoreditch and Hammersmith, an eclectic array of creatives and entrepreneurs elaborate on the ways in which their work and lives impact the neighbourhood and how the neighbourhood has influenced them.

Product & Exhibition photos for Brandon Graham
For www.afura.nl photographer Ali Mousavi and I did a lookbook (video & photo). Here are some WIP snaps I took during shooting day. :)
Brandon Graham : Work in progress.
Gallery 33 presents multiple Eisner nominee and “one man comic creating machine” Brandon Graham, launching an “open-studio” style exhibition and celebrating the world premiere of his new PictureBox book Walrus. We’ll be offering a limited number of signed copies at the gallery before the official book launch. Brandon will be in the space interacting with visitors, immediately putting what he creates on the gallery’s walls and windows. Next to the Walrus book Brandon will have drawings and pages for sale and we will also have a selection of his other recent books and exclusive merch available to purchase.
Flat: byBorre, an exhibition surrounding the innovative designs and production techniques of young Dutch designer Borre Akkersdijk, opened during Amsterdam Fashion Week 2013 and ran for about a month and a half. Borre Akkersdijk and his studio byBorre are internationally recognised for their fresh approach to textiles and manufacturing. The show featured brilliantly crafted textiles that are informed by a variety of disciplines, but are still shockingly original. People visiting the show got an exclusive insight into innovative textile-making and clothing, had the possibility to buy scarves made of materials exclusive to the exhibition and partake in the production process together with the artist. Present Plus’ Kuvva-app also featured a set of photos made especially for the show, by me!
With The Webster, designer Tieme Rietveld aims to create the bookcase of the 21st century, combining state of the art craftsmanship with innovative contemporary design. The exceptional attention paid to the design details make it a gorgeous piece of furniture. The playful maze-like design consists of four flipped and mirrored elements, resulting in a sensually organised chaos of shelves and storage space. The Webster’s rounded edges, smooth lines, uneven and set-back parts, and the satin finish give it a unique personality. Rietveld set his sight on making each design-feature a subtle one, yet also successfully achieved to create an overall dramatic effect.
The bookcase comes with walnut wooden legs or a sleek white baseboard. It’s a gorgeous piece of furniture, designed to display not only books, but also pictures, vases and gadgets. The handcrafted Webster is made with FSC approved materials, and a great durable piece of furniture that pushes the boundaries of current contemporary design.
